The theme of the week this year is Choose Respect, which aims to raise awareness that bullying is a behaviour choice, and therefore we should always choose to respect each other both face-to-face and online.
Recognising bullying behaviour and supporting those who are being bullied are important roles for educators and those working in childcare or early years. Protecting children and young people is an even greater task now that technology and the online world are an integral part of their everyday lives.
The Anti-Bullying Alliance provide a set of free resources for educators to use in the classroom to develop awareness and understanding of bullying for children and young people.
If you work with children and young people and would like to develop your own skills in recognising behaviour, managing behaviour, and protecting those who may be being bullied, Laser Learning offer a range of short courses written by education professionals which cover these areas. Many of our courses are endorsed by the awarding body, CACHE, and will give you the tools to provide the best possible environment for all those in your care.
